He's barely in for a quarter of a normal life
But his mid-life crisis has taken from him more than time
Those scars on his arm promised to free
They only stitch him in tighter to this life
I stand corrected it's a nightmare when he wakes up
When he wakes up it's a nightmare
Knife by his bed in a daze
He tries to remember what happened the night before
This empty house was never a home
You know the bottles and pills show the cracks in his life
Each one stories he searched for at the bottom
You know he only found spit and sickness
Someone left a note from the night before
It reads; This will be the last time I save you
This was the life neglected
This was the story you read about
This is the one I can't forget
Because I was the one who wrote that letter
I'm sorry
